New England Innocence Project

Jason Stone Injury Lawyers is proud to support the New England Innocence Project, an organization that helps innocent convicted people clear their names and get out of jail.  To be accused of a crime, then convicted, and then incarcerated is many people’s worst nightmare.  Unfortunately, it happens all too often and it ruins the lives of the families and friends of the accused.  We pride ourselves on fighting for the underdog against those entities with unlimited resources, like cities, big corporations and insurance companies.  To support the New England Innocence Project is natural – just like it, we want to prevent people from being bullied and taken advantage of.

For those unfamiliar with The New England Innocence Project (NEIP), it is an independent social justice nonprofit that works to correct and prevent wrongful convictions and fights injustice within the criminal legal system for innocent people imprisoned for a crime they did not commit in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

NEIP receives 100s of requests from inmates praying that NEIP will investigate their conviction and offer to assist.  To determine if it can help an inmate, the NEIP provides free forensic testing, investigation, experts, and an experienced legal team to exonerate the innocent and bring them home to their loved ones.  Once out of jail, the NEIP supports exonerees and freed people as they work to rebuild their lives through the peer-led Exoneree Network.  NEIP also uses their expertise about wrongful convictions to provide education and advocate for legislative and judicial reforms to prevent future tragedies.

At Jason Stone Injury Lawyers, we want to raise awareness of the tremendous work the NEIP is doing to support the wrongfully convicted and provide legal assistance in the most effective manner to help NEIP achieve the goal of having no innocent person ever spend a day behind bars.
